GoodGym Run

OPF Run Poster

Date: Saturday 26th October 2013

Meet Up: 9.45am   Run Starts: 10.00am    Finish by: 12noon

Location: Meet at The Cornerstone Community Building, on corner of Dalton Square & Sulyard Street, Lancaster, LA1 1PX

Run Details: 5km guided run (approx). Please be aware that this run involves stopping to do physical work to prepare a new food growing site.

Registration: Please use the contact form below to register for the run. There is no charge for this event, although donations to support the Fork to Fork project will be welcome on the day.

Join Lancaster’s first GoodGym run to help Fork to Fork develop the new community food growing site next to Lancaster Brewery, at Lancaster Leisure Park. Runners will be helping to prepare the new site and the challenge will involve digging and lifting. For more information about Fork to Fork and GoodGym scroll down.

Please bring appropriate ‘work’ footwear (not your new trainers!) for digging in the dirt (if necessary we can transport boots etc to the site from the run start). The run will start and finish at The Cornerstone community building where there will be a safe place to leave bags and toilet facilities. In the case of very bad weather an alternative in-door physical challenge will be set. Hot drinks will kindly be provided at the Fork to Fork site by Lancaster Brewery.

We are also looking  for volunteers to help marshal the run and help out once runners arrive at the Fork to Fork site. If you’d like to volunteer please use the registration form below.

Good Gym, One Planet Festival, LESS, Thumprint, or those operating on their behalf, will not be held liable for any loss, accident or injury, before, during or resulting from this event.

Fork to Fork is a Lancaster-based food growing initiative for people with learning disabilities run by Thumbprint. Their new food growing site, next to Lancaster Brewery, has kindly been provided by Lancashire Leisure Park. See Fork to Fork website for more information.

The GoodGym initiative helps people to get and stay fit, while benefiting their community. We hope this is the start of a regular GoodGym group run in Lancaster and if you’d like to get involved please register your interest on the Bring GoodGym to Lancaster webpage:
